Acknowledgement

Thank you Rev Jeswin John achen for celebrating today’s communion service and for the inspiring message. Thank you, lay leaders, choir, and media committee for assisting with today’s service. The Holy Communion Service in English will be celebrated next Sunday at 8:30am at Evanswood church by Rev. Jeswin John achen. 

Sunday school classes will start after the service today in the fellowship hall. 

Malayalam Choir will have a carol service practice today after the service. 

English Choir will have their practice Saturday at 5pm. 

 

Sevika Sanghom

Sevika Sanghom monthly meeting will be held  on Sunday November 17th in the fellowship hall after the service. 

 

Sunday School

The Sunday School Christmas program practices will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 6:30 PM at Evanswood Church. For any questions, please contact Mrs. Simi Varghese, the program convener. 

 

Carol Rounding

The practice for Carol rounding songs will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Church.

The daily schedule for carol rounding is shared. If you are unable to host the carol rounders these days, please contact the convenors, Mr Roy Mathews or I. Also please let the convenors know if you are able to the first home or the last home. If any of our families and friends are able to host the carol rounders, please let us know so that the homes can be scheduled. 

*  The houses are not listed in order. Order will be published once the first and last homes are confirmed along with any guest visits.

Choir

Our choir is organizing a music workshop - retreat on Saturday November 23rd 10am at Evanswood church. The guest for the event is Mr. Thomas Mathew Karunagapally, a well known music composer and lyricist.  All our members are invited to attend. Please register with Mrs. Soumya Kuriakose or Mr. Manaloor Eapen on or before November 17th.

Thanksgiving Praise and worship service

A thanksgiving service in conjunction with Evanswood church will be organized by our Youth Group on November Saturday 23rd, at 1:30pm. As we come together to give thanks for our blessings, we invite your support. To help cover the food costs, we are gratefully accepting donations for the event. Any contribution, big or small, will be a blessing! Inviting all parish members, family, and friends for this special event.


Prayer Group meeting

A combined prayer group meeting will be held at the residence of Mr. Cherry Thomas and Mrs. Elizabeth Cherry on Sunday,  November 24th at 5:30pm. Elections for Prayer group leaders for 2025 calendar year will be held during the meeting.

 

Refreshments

Thank you refreshment committee, for organizing and making the necessary arrangements for today’s refreshments. 

 

Condolences

 

Mr. Samuel Philip (Joychen), member of Detroit Mar Thoma Church, was called to his heavenly abode on November 16th. St. John’s Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence to the family as they grieve the loss of their loved one. May our Almighty Lord grant them strength at this time of mourning and comfort them with His peace. Visitation/funeral service arrangements will be shared at a later time. Please keep Mrs. Susamma Philip in your prayers as she is undergoing treatments.

 

Birthday & Wedding Anniversary

St. John's Mar Thoma Church conveys our warm regards to all the members celebrating their birthday and wedding anniversary this week.
