Bible Study

Edavaka Mission

Best Karshakashree Award

St. John's Mar Thoma Church Edavaka mission will present Best Karshakashree Award to recognize the outstanding achievements of individuals engaged in vegetable gardening this summer from our parish.

Choir

A choir audition is planned for the end of August. If any parish members are interested in joining the church choir, please provide your name to the choir secretary Mrs. Saumya Kuriakose by Sunday July 30, 2023. The audition date and time will be notified later.

Detroit Mar Thoma church cordially invites St. John's Mar Thoma Church to Mar Thoma Fest 2023 at the Detroit Mar Thoma Church on Saturday, August 5th, 2023. Many activities are planned including sports, a painting competition (1st -12th grade), Health & Wellness Promotion, and a cultural program.  Food stalls with a variety of freshly made and delicious cuisine will be available at noon time on Saturday and through the afternoon. Saturday evening at 5 pm we will have a cultural program filled with songs, dance, skits, fashion show, and other entertaining items. 

All the members of St. John's Mar Thoma Church are invited to attend Mar Thoma Fest 2023 and participate in the painting competition and sports activities.

Sports Activities Sign-up

Sports activities this year will include Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, and introducing for the first time Pickle Ball. There is a sign-up sheet to participate in the sports activities. Registration deadline for Pickleball and Table Tennis is this Sunday, July 23rd as preliminary play for both sports will start as early as Tuesday July 25th and Sunday July 30th respectively. Requesting all those interested to sign-up as soon as possible and submit registration fees by the tournament start date:

Condolence 

With deep sorrow, we inform you all of the sad demise of our member Mr. Jossy Mathai (57 years old) husband of Mrs. Jaya Mathai, father of Joshua and David, and son of Mrs. Aleyamma Mathai, on Saturday July 22, 2023. St. John's Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence and remembers the blessings and services provided by Jossy to our church. Please uphold the family in your prayers. May our Almighty Lord grant them strength at this hour of mourning and comfort them with His peace.
